Full description

Reichel, O. J., 1928 - 1938, The Hundred of Braunton in Early Times, 408,413,458 (Article in Monograph). SDV73922.

Prixford alias Prixworthy belonged to the Manor of Braunton or Brantona in Domesday. In 1238 it belonged to Robert de Blakeford and Avice his wife. Later descents are given.

Prixford was first mentioned as 'Pirkewurth' in 1238. It was 'Pirkesworthi' in 1330 and 'Pyrkesworthy' in 1356.
