Farmstead depicted on 19th century mapping. The manor of Haggington is first recorded as Hagintona in the Domesday Survey of 1086. Today there are two settlements - East Hagginton and West Haggington.

West haggington and combe in ilfracombe was hagintona in domesday. It included a messuage in aylescot in west down. Held by robert de ponte cardonis of baldwin the sheriff. Before the conquest it was held by ulf. Later descents given.(reichel).
