Full description
South West Heritage Trust, 1838-1848, Digitised Tithe Maps and Transcribed Apportionments, Plot 892 (Cartographic). SDV359954.
Marked as 'Campscot' on Tithe Map. Farmhouse is rectangular, aligned north-south and is adjoined on the north end by a large, inverted L-shaped farm building. One additional rectangular farm building lies to the east, parallel to the house.

'Middle Campscott' shown. Some changes indiacted, including new (or extended) farmhouse, now square in shape. Eastern building now gone and range to north extended (including horse engine house on western side). Additional building added to south-west of house.

Campscott is recorded as 'Kampescoth' (1242), 'Cambescote' (1326), 'Cammescote' (1346) and 'Camescote' (1371). May be the same Camme whose son Bristric held the manor of Bugford in East Devon in 1086.
