The Rolle toll road in Great Torrington. Part of the Torrington Canal which was closed circa 1870 was turned into a toll road called the New or Rolle Road built in 1875. It was not successful and was later abandoned.

The toll road ran from Torrington Station to Town Mills, but failed as it by-passed Torrington itself.
