Full description
Hughes, B. D., 1970, Aids to Recording (6). The Rolle Canal, 80 (Article in Serial). SDV19175.
About 1826, the mill leat for Town Mills was widened to allow traffic of tug boats and provision of water for the canal (Monument ID 445) and town mills (Monument ID 14289), and a new weir built across the river. The leat was wide enough to allow boats as far as Headland Docks. Other details: Photocopy in Parish File.
