Full description
Hughes, B. D., 1970, Aids to Recording (6). The Rolle Canal, 80, 83 (Article in Serial). SDV19175.
A new weir was built across the river here in 1827, when the mill leat for Town Mills was widened. Tug boats could then go as far as this weir, at Healand Docks. A stone at one end of the weir bears the inscription "This weir was built by John Lord Rolle 1837" .
