Full description
Reichel, O. J., 1928 - 1938, The Hundred of Shebbear in Early Times, 534,540,573,581 (Article in Monograph). SDV7713.
Galsworthy was 'Galeshosa' in Domesday. A small estate of 100 acres, it had been added to the Manor of Buckland shortly before 1086. In Domesday it was held by Ansger the Breton of the Count of Mortain. Before the conquest it was held by Edwi, a free tenant.
