The Orway or Worway Stone at Orway Cross. This stone is 'mentioned in 1543' according to Miss Helen Barrett, a local historian. On the boundary of Kentisbeare and Broadhembury parishes.

Exeter Museums Archaeological Field Unit, 1992 - 1993, Blackdown Hills Survey Archive (Archive - Survey). SDV324187.

The stone was not visible on a visit on 21/8/1992. The site had been covered with rubble and was overgrown.

Glover, F., 2007, Personal comment (Personal Comment). SDV57471.

ST09920703 has been suggested as the correct location for the Orway or Worway stone mentioned in 1543, but a boundary stone is also marked at Orway Cross on the historic mapping, so either location could be correct.
