Summary
North wyke. Chapel in s range, e of gatehouse. The chapel was licensed in 1438. It has a 2-storeyed chancel, but above the nave is the priest's room. Stained glass in one window (pevsner). Dates to before 16th century. There is evidence of a screen between the upper room and chancel. A piscina was lately (in 1896) found there (thornton). Chapel contains a priests chamber separated by panelling from a gallery overlooking the sacrarium. Arms of wyke and giffards in window glass (lega-weekes).
