'rixton barn' is shown on os 25" (1880s) map with a long narrow enclosure to the north with another building on the northern boundary + two orchards further north (os).

Rixton. This is the site of the "rokesdon" mentioned in 1374 it is associated with "kynwardesburgh" (burrow) in the cartulary of st. John's hospital, exeter. Rockson is named on greenwood's map of devon (1825), but on the 1904 os map only a barn is shown.(no buildings are indicated on the present os 6" map).(rose-troup).
