Whale, T. W., 1903, Analysis of the Exon Domesday in Hundreds, 682 (Article in Serial). SDV336699.
Whale suggests that this was one of Goscelm's Domesday holdings but Reichel does not include it in his analysis.

Goodcott is Godevacota in Domesday book. Derived from a personal name.

Goodcott. The farm is named after the lady who held the estate at the time of Edward the Confessor: ie. "Godera's cote. ". By the 13th century it was no longer a separate manor.
