'coffleet' is shown at this location on os 25" 1880 map with several buildings and small fields + a large orchard to the n. The main building 22m x 9m oriented e-w has two wings protruding c.4m to the s (os).

Cofflete farm, brixton, was a medieval estate which formed an outlier of the parish of yealmpton. It was a freehold of the manor of yealmpton. Holders in the 13th and 14th centuries are given. In 1285 it was recorded as giving its name to a tithing of the hundred of plympton (reichel).
