Vis=19/1/1983 (weddell). The ford may refer to the crossing of the stream at little haydon to which the adjacent track leads, see ss91nw/48 and worksheet.

Two field names on the tithe map, "pafford". No ford could be sited within them but the names may refer to a 'paved ford' nearby, or to the "path to the ford. " there is a stream adjacent to these fields the ngr refers to this, but there may be a ford at little haydon ss90551675.(tm). Adjacent to the line of the preferred route of ndlr. Stage 2. Pafford may be derived from old english "paed" meaning path (epns + mawer).
