Summary

Remains of an indistinct enclosure with associated fragments of bank to the north and south. The south-east section of this enclosure has been lost completely. This site is included in the local list of Nationally Important Dartmoor sites.

These antiquities were so vague and fragmentary that it is not possible to locate them accurately on the ground. (14/4/1950)
An enclosed homestead situated on the south east slopes of Zeal Hill. Very low wall of turf-covered stones on average 1.2 meters thick and 65.0 meters north-south. Possible hut circle where the wall ends on the north-east, 6.0 meters internal diameter. (18/7/1977) Other details: Sketch plan included.

Enclosure A; one of at least seven enclosures with hut circles close to Black Tor. This is one of the earlier, less substantial enclosures, according to Butler. The south-eastern section of the enclosure is missing. Other details: Map 57, 1.

This site was considered for designation as a Scheduled Ancient Monument during the Monument Protection Programme. The programme ended before the entire list of sites was successfully scheduled so this is included on a local list of Nationally Important Sites.
