Well; at marsh? water used as a cure for blood deficiencies, asthma, consumption etc. Reference in polwhele's 'historical views of devon (brown). Vis=24/9/1984 (griffiths) well at this ngr now obscured by rubble and waste, mostly demolition material from building which formerly stood to the west. Other wells in the area as candidates.
