Documentary references indicate that Byter or Boyter Mill was working as a corn or grist mill in the 18th century. It is described in 1899 has having two pairs of stones. The waterwheel has now gone.

Ther are documentary references to a corn or water-grist mills called Byter or Boyter Mills dating back to 1774. A sales notice for 1899 describes the mill as having two pairs of stones. The waterwheel has now gone.
