East buckland. This site was recorded as bochelanda in domesday. It was held by drogo of the bishop of coutances. Before the conquest it was held by alcerl. Recorded in the 1241 testa de nevil as est bokland. Early descents given (reichel). Vis=17/6/1984 (quinnell et al) pronounced traces of desertion visible in this field. A hollow way and possible platforms visible. Site said by cotsford to be the site of the rectory (worksheet).
