Grinsell, L. V., 1978, Dartmoor Barrows, 160 (Article in Serial). SDV273224.

(27/02/1977) Disturbed cairn on west slope of Standon Hill. Has retaining circle. Possible site of Crossing's 'poorly preserved cist'. Diameter 4 metres, height 0.45 metres.

Greeves, T., 1983, Cairn south-east of Standon Farm, Sketch (Worksheet). SDV251774.

Visited on 26th August 1983. At least 13 slabs of the retaining circle survive. Diameter 5 metres east to west, 4.6 metres north to south. Remains of cairn within circle. Surrounding this cairn are at least four other 'conventional' cairns, forming a cairnfield. The locations of these are sketched on the worksheet. Several short lengths of walling lie to the west.

Not visible on 1940s Royal Air Force verticals.

Turner, J. R., 1990, Ring Cairns, Stone Circles and Related Monuments on Dartmoor, 72/D15 (Article in Serial). SDV229817.

Ring setting, internal diameter 3.7 metres, around possible central cist.

Butler, J., 1991, Dartmoor Atlas of Antiquities: Volume Two - The North, 105, 241, Map 32, Site 17 (Monograph). SDV219155.

Standon Hill W cairn at SX54738136 of circa 5.0 metres diameter by 0.3 metres high with a cist. Small cairn about 5 metres across on the moorland side of the Standon Farm enclosures has been severely damaged. The tall slabs of a kerb retaining circle remain standing around the eastern quadrant, the rest having fallen flat or been robbed. A single stone on end is probably the last of an inner ring of tiny diameter surrounding a central cist. The cist was in poor condition when first noticed by Crossing in 1912 and is now no longer visible.

Probert, S. + Fletcher, M. + Newman, P., 1998, Willsworthy Training Area, Peter Tavy, Devon: An Archaeological survey by the Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England (Report - Survey). SDV350638.

(01/08/1998) SX 54748137. A disturbed cairn measuring 5.2m N to S by 6.0m and standing a maximum of 0.3m high. Eight large upright slabs and boulders, up to 0.6m high, lie on the fringe of the mound to create a substantial retaining circle. There is no evidence to suggest the presence of a cist though is seems likely that the interior of the cairn has been used as a repository for cleared stone. A large number of relatively recent clearance cairns lie in the immediate area.
