Full description

Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, 1982, SY19NW27 (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV121951.

Ring cairn with an inner tump.14m east-west and 15m north-south. The tump is 5m across and 0.25m high placed south of centre. Possible remains of internal ditch. The bank is 3m wide and 0.15m high. No external ditch or flint exposed. Other details: Plan, section.

SMR describe ring cairn with inner tump. Ring diameter 14 metres east/west by 15 metres north/ south, bank 3 metres wide by 0.15 metre high. Inner tump 5 metres wide and placed south of centre. Possible remains of internal ditch; no external ditch. This feature was not located during the field survey. The area lay under tussocky grass with some patchy gorse. There are many mounds and hollows in this area as a result of probable iron extraction (see site 297).
