Full description
Road Construction Unit, 1975, North Devon Link Road 2, 7989-7991, 8010 (Aerial Photograph). SDV343300.
Hollow way at Knowstone Inner Moor. This feature was visible on the aerial photograph as a fairly wide vegetation mark, different from the field banks around it.
Weddell, P. J., 1983, Field Systems on Hares Down and Knowstone Inner and Outer Moor (Worksheet). SDV339071.
Runs from SS83702170 to SS83552200, roughly north/south up to 50 metres east of the present road. Two banks are visible along much of its length, the total width is about 4 metres. It is rather disturbed in places. It appears to have been cut by the modern road east of Knowstone Moor Cross. It also marks the western extent of the field systems of Knowstone Moor and Hares Down, and thus also could be a boundary ditch.
