Series of photos showing the cutting of ballclay and the kilns, winches, shaftheads and railway at the clayworks.

"Marland Brick and Tile Works" marked, with "Reservoirs" to its west.

The reservoirs are still marked on the 1964 map, but the brickworks are simply "Works" and the buildings appear more dispersed.

A brick kiln had been established here by 1845. By 1878, the Marland Brick and Tile Works were in operation and had constructed kilns and buildings. A plan of the Marland Works in 1892 is reproduced, these consisting of brick and tile kilns, engine house, chimney, stores etc etc. The site of the brickworks was levelled in 1950s.
