Name: | Hartyland Leat |

Summary
This now dry pot water leat for Hartyland was originally taken off from near the source of a small western tributary of the Stannon Brook, in a rather marshy wet hollow of rough grassland, at SX 64428058. It flowed in a generally SSE direction almost parallel to the tributary till it met an enclosure wall at SX 64568008 where a well preserved section 1.3m wide is cut into the E-facing slope to a depth of about 1m. It has a good bank on its E side 2m wide and 0.5m high. Passing under two lintels in field walls it then proceeds SSW towards Hartyland, evident as a much infilled ditch some 2m wide and 0.2m deep, cut into the slope on the immediate W side of a field wall. It continues in a similar state to Hartyland (SX 64397949) and terminates on the East Dart River at SX 64297946.
