PRESUMED TO BE PART OF LOWER LONGBRIDGE FARM, Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV113125.

Owl's castle (presumed to be part of lower longbridge farm).

NMR CITING OS, Untitled Source (Report - Survey). SDV113132.

Vis=17/8/1960 (os) s side + chimney are rendered. Modern garage extension to w end. Small wing added to n side. Of the 2 wood mullioned windows in n front, one is original and the other partly original. Original internal features include exposed ceiling beams, a stud + panel partition and tudor style doorways. Roof trusses of upper cruck type (nmr citing os).

Vis=-/-/1977 (alcock) medieval house with small inner room, divided at truss 1 - whole truss smoke-blackened so partition either inserted or did not reach roof. Stage 2 partition inserted at truss 2, with internal jetty. Stair at north end of screen. Late 16th century hall fireplace + ceiling. Lower end evidence uncertain: possible cowhouse (worksheet).

Owl's Castle is a late medieval house with an early plank and muntin screen. There is a two-centre arch door frame to a small inner room, and an inserted jettied chamber with late 16th century fireplace and ceiling.
