Hut circle 'a' at SX57707644. Internal diam 6.4 metres defined by a crude ring of earthfast boulders and stones of varying size and shape, 0.6 metres wide and up to 0.3 metres high. A gap in north-east arc, 4 metres wide, may represent entrance. This is certainly not a retaining kerb, and is very similar to 2 hut circles to the north-east on the same hillslope.
Visited on 17th October 1978. Hut 'a' with internal diameter 7 metres north to south by 6 metres east to west with walls 1.3m thick. Very poor condition.

This monument includes a stone hut circle situated on a gentle east-facing slope overlooking the valley of the river Walkham. The building lies on the hillslope and the wall is faced with orthostats. The interior of the structure measures 6.3 metres in diameter and is defined by a 1.5 metres wide wall standing up to 0.3 metres high. The hut lies in close proximity to a substantial Bronze Age field boundary known as The Great Western Reave and is set on the periphery of a contemporary fragmentary field system.
