Summary
The warren house was destroyed by fire c.1845. It has been levelled to the foundations, probably to provide stone for the nearby Warren House Inn. A well constructed house of mortared stone, probably of three downstairs rooms, with outshot kitchen. Of no great age. Probably had a wood floor. Within enclosures below the Princetown-Moretonhampstead road. Appears on Donne's map of devon 1765 called New House.

Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV274111.
Des=haynes, r. G. /ruined sites on dartmoor/(nd)92 plan/ms in smr. New warren house. Vis=20/5/1967 (haynes). The old warren house destroyed by fire c.1845. It has been levelled to the foundations, probably to provide stone for the nearby warren house inn. A well constructed house of mortared stone, probably of three downstairs rooms, with outshot kitchen. Of no great age. Probably had a wood floor. Within enclosures below princetown-moretonhampstead road. Appears on donne's map of devon 1765 called new house.
