Full description
Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.
Mill depicted. Recorded as Mill and Outhouses on the Milton Abbot Tithe Apportionment (Plot 1598). Two ponds and the leat are also shown.

'Ford Mill (Corn)' shown as two buildings on the north of the road with a well to the east. Two ponds and the leat are also shown. The waterwheel appears to have been on the northern side of the eastern building, over the leat and tailrace, which ran on the north side of the buildings.

There are references to Henry Colling as miller at Ford Mill in 19th century trade directories, 1850-1870.
Site visit 29th June 1997. The mill was located close by the side of the road but has been demolished. Only a small dry pond survives. The leat started near Hardicott Wood and fed two millponds.
