South West Textile Mills project number: 414. Tenter Loft. A 3 storey wing of a house set perpendicular to the street, with a well preserved tenter loft to the top storey. It is probably early 19th century in date and has sash type windows to the south side elevation. The north side is blind with a central stack above the eaves, though there are some smaller blocked openings to the north side. The parallel building in the adjacent plot to the north has been demolished. The loft is said to have been used for carding. The site was identified during fieldwork.
