Full description

Department of Environment, Bittadon Nine Barrows, Centery Lane (Schedule Document). SDV340829.

One of nine barrows on arable land, ploughed, no ditches. To east of road, cut away on east and south, and earth piled on top.

One of 9 Bronze Age Bowl Barrows.
1. j. This one is partly destroyed by road building, SS54304265.
2. j. Cut away on north and east, in centre is 10 feet high.
3. j. Above is correct.
(5) (H) SS54314265. A mound 23 paces in diameter and 9.5 feet high, the west side of which is cut by Centery Lane. Its resemblance to a bell barrow may be due to digging around its circumference leaving the interior partly undisturbed.

Part of a round barrow cemetery 210 metres south west of Hillcrest, Centery Lane. Has been cut by a field entrance on its north east side and by the roadside hedge on north west side, and is essentially part of a field boundary.
