Summary

Higher crownley. House built of cob in early 17th century. It is of two storeys and three cells with a through-passage behind the stack of the central hall. This room has mouldings to the beams and joists, and a moulded frame to the doorway which formerly led to the stairs in a projecting turret. The stairs have been turned and now rise from the inner room. Few other details remain, but the room beyond the passage shows no evidence of having been a byre (mercer,e).
