Melbourne Place, Melbourne Street. Four stucco houses forming a symmetrical block with three-storey centre and two-storey wings. Early to mid 19th century.

Includes: Nos.1-4 Melbourne Place. Block of four adjoining houses, single build. 1850. Rendered mass wall construction; slate hipped roofs with read rolls; stacks with brick and rendered shafts. Cast-iron rainwater goods and cast-iron sills to the windows.
Plan: four houses arranged as a symmetrical block. The centre houses face south onto the street, the outer pair (double fronted) are end on to the street.
Exterior: centre houses three storeys, outer pair two storeys. Almost symmetrical 1:2:2:1-bay front. The pair fronting the street have boxed eaves and round-headed doorways to the left. The doorways have rusticated quoins and fanlights with spoke glazing bars; doors are 20th century replacements. The centre houses have 16-pane hornless timber sashes to the ground floor and 12-pane sashes to the first and second floors. The end walls of the outer pair each have one ground and one first floor 16-pane timber sash windows. The front elevations of the outer pair have central doorways matching those of Nos 65 and 67 and 16-pane timber sashes.
Interior: not inspected but may retain features of interest.
