On bolt down (bolberry down) are two barrows which appear to have been opened.(os citing worth). Bolt down probably refers to bolberry down. Bolberry was formerly boltberry.(os).

Two burial mounds are recorded by the Ordnance Survey at Bolt (Bolberry ?) Down. No sign of these was found on a field inspection in July 1989, and no further reference was found.
