Full description

Department of Environment, 1983, Newton Abbot, 25 (List of Blds of Arch or Historic Interest). SDV298253.

Raised pavement with railings in front of chapel of St Mary, Highweek Street. Early 19th century stone raised pavement about 8 ft in height. Two flights of stone steps and spear railings with urn finials at intervals.

Raised pavement with railings in front of Church of St. Mary and St. Mary's Hall. Raised pavement to the front of the former Church of St Mary, St Mary's Hall and Former Church of England Primary School. Circa 1823. Stone-coped rubble walls to raised pavement with granite steps and restored spearhead railings with urn finials; 2 stone piers to left. Forms a prominent feature in the streetscape and contemporary in date with St Mary's Hall and the 1826 remodelling of the Church of St Mary. Date listed: 22nd March 1983.
