Early and mid 19th century. Two storeys pebble-dashed with slate roof. Side elevation has four casement windows and two original tented balconies with good iron trelliswork decoration. Mid 19th century range to west. Two storeys pebble-dashed. Slate roof with dormer. Three casements.

John Gill had built himself a large house, called Ferrum Hill House, behind the works; it later became Brooklands and is now divided. The house by the road now called Ferrum House was originally the works office.
