Ashburton - East Street (north side) Nos.69, 71 and 73 - GV II
House, now divided into three houses; Nos 71 and 73 partly rebuilt. Probably 16th or early 17th century. Solid rendered walls. Slated roofs. Three rendered chimneys with tapered caps: one on left gable, two on rear wall.
Two storeys. Five windows wide. Front lined to imitate masonry. No 71 has mid or late 18th century doorcase with moulded architrave, panelled frieze, flat hood on shaped brackets, panelled reveals; 6-panelled door, the bottom two panels flush, the top two now glazed. No 73 has similar doorcase and door, but without the frieze and bracketed hood, and with an iron shoescraper; top 4 panels of door glazed. No 69 has raised quoins to left; late 20th century bay window in ground storey, metal casement above. No 71 has 10-paned sash window to left of centre door; 8-paned sash window to right, with 3 more in upper storey. No 73 has two 20th century wood-framed windows.
