Socket stone in hedge at roadside to east of Dousland Farm. Part of a line of crosses between Buckfast and Buckland Abbeys.

Cross on the road to Princetown, built into a wall near a gateway, about half a mile from Dousland (Type A). A massive roughly square socket stone, with the square socket hole penetrating the stone. Possibly the "Yanedonecrosse" (Yennadon Cross) of the 13th century foundation deed of Buckland Abbey.

Remains of stone cross. The perforated base of this cross is a slab now set vertically in the hedge at the north corner of the crossroad.
Socket stone 1.0 meter by 0.8 metres, socket 0.3 metres square. Condition of stone is good.
