Meavy Iron Mine at the foot of Yennadon Down was leased in 1836 to George Stone Baron with permission to search for iron and other ores. Deeds include a map of the sett showing 13 bound stones in two parallel lines running west-east across the foot of the Down. The shallow openworks were overgrown in 1995.
