Gateway to Speedwell House, adjoining 6 Lower Street (No 6 not included). Gateway. Medieval, dated 1365 according to 20th century date plaque. Red sandstone ashlar arch set in local stone rubble. Carriage entrance. The arch was retained and incorporated into a new building when Speedwell House was demolished in 1935. It is a large 2-centred arch with chamfered surround.
