Goodameavy House. Cross, type A. The ancient socket-stone which formerly stood by the roadside outside the moor gate, opposite Urgles Farm, now lies in the garden of Goodameavy House, near the bridge, where it forms the base of a memorial cross to the son of a former occupier.

An ancient socket stone lies in the garden of Goodameavy House. Roughly circular in shape, it was removed from where Urgles Cross now stands to the grounds of Goodameay House by Arthur Manley Hill. A modern cross of metal has been set in the ancient socket stone as a memorial to Major F T C Hill, who was killed in action in 1915.
Socket Stone 1.04 by 1.04 metres (roughly circular), 0.10 metres above the ground. Socket hole 0.27 by 0.22 metres.
