Full description

Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, 1962 - 1977, SS14NW/SW26 (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV319150.

Site visit: 18th May 1962. A robbed cairn 12.8 metres diameter, 0.3 metres high with 6 or 7 stones of a retaining circle remaining. Just outside them on the north side is a probable cover stone.

Middle Park site No. 4 interpreted as a hut site with associated with the nearby field system.

Circular bank of grass with a few stones visible. Diameter 14 yards, 1 foot high.

On south facing slope of spur. Low circular bank with an outer rim of large stones irregularly set around the edge. Diameter approx 10 metres, maximum height 0.5 metres. Other details: 101,068.

Department for Culture, Media and Sport, 1998, Cairn 300m South West of Tibbett's Lookout, Lundy (Schedule Document). SDV319153.

Cairn located 300 metres south-west of Tibbett's Lookout. The carin measures 10 metres in diameter and stands 0.4 metres high at the highest point. The interior shows a despression 4.5 metres in diameter now grown over with turf. Large stones, two of which are over 1 metre long, are exposed in the depression and may be the remains of the burial cists. The capstone of the cist lies to the north-east beside the mound. Nor record of an excavation is known.
