Goodwin, N., 2004, Archaeological Watching Brief at 74 Fore Street, Kingsbridge (Report - Watching Brief). SDV348778.

An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during construction works, consisting of refurbishment of the shop and reduction of ground level by 0.3 metres in the eastern half of the site from the rear of the shop and by 0.2 metres across the western half of the site. To the rear of the shop brick and stone foundations of an extension, probably 19th century and which had recently been destroyed by fire, were exposed. In the centre of the site, walls and surfaces also likely to date from the 19th century were revealed, but no earlier features were encounterd. A small amount of 16th to 18th century pottery and a clay pipe bowl were recovered.
