Waste ground in corners of two adjoining fields one side overgrown with trees the other with brambles etc. Field name on tithe map pit close the division of the quarry by the field boundary appears to have occured by this time so the quarry may be much older.(tm + ta).(nb field bank dividing the quarry is now a property boundary).
