Name: | Enclosure within Trowlesworthy Warren, Shaugh Prior |
---|
Summary
A sub-rectangular enclosure containing a possible hut circle lies on the lower south-western flank of Little Trowlesworthy Tor. The enclosure measures 19m north-south by a maximum of 25m internally and is bounded by a stony bank 2.0m wide and up to 0.8m high. A protrusion approximately 6.0m in diameter lies in the western side of this feature. This may represent to former site of a hut circle though a considerable amount of clearance stone has been dumped in this area which makes a positive interpretation impossible. The enclosure is adjoined by a Medieval or later field bank, formerly part of the enclosures of Trowlesworthy Farm.
