Summary

Fisherman's Bridge was built privately by the owner of Pixies Halt between 1915 and 1930. It was demolished in about 1960 but its stone piers still survive in the river.

(September 1984) SX 6695 7303. The susbstantial granite piers of a former footbridge across the West Dart River survive here.

Fisherman's Bridge was built by the owner of Pixies Halt who lived there between about 1915 and 1930. it was demolished by the army in about 1960. It is remembered as a steel bridge with sides and wooden planks and a gate at each end. Its stone piers can still be seen about 250 metres upstream of the West Dart's confluence with the East Dart.
