Crosbeame/Corewsbeame Mine is situated 550 feet (168 metres) above sea level and dates back to the 17th century (1600, 1625 and 1639). Refers to documentation in the Plymouth and West Devon Record Office (PWDRO/72/1034); Burnard, 1891, 105; 'lieing between Uppeton Combe Hedd and Blewstone att the head of the holdings and so streaming into them' (1625).
