Name: | Streamworking on the north bank of the West Dart River |
---|
Summary
There is a substantial 1.2m deep ditch with upcast banks of gravel material on each side, working extends from SX 61157464 to SX 61257459 and again from SX 61327455 to SX 61517447. The gap between the two lengths of ditch is occupied by large shallow and amorphous tin pits and vague depressions. The western end of the ditch presumably opened into the river at some stage but this intake is now blocked; the eastern, downstream, end drains into the river.
