Name:Hut on cross reave 150 metres south-west of Hangman's Pit

Summary

One of four hut circles south-west of Hangman's Pit. All the huts adjoin elements of the Dartmeet parallel reave system. They are terraced into the hillside to provide level interiors. This is one of a pair of huts incorporated into a cross reave between two parallel reaves (see also MDV126299). Measures 6.0 metres in diameter, with walls 1.1 metres wide, 0.5 metres high. Entrance on east.

Hut circle incorporated into a cross reave between two parallel reaves within the reave system SX67SE/246/2. Visible on 1977 aerial photograph.

(18/04/1996) Centred SX 67127152. Four hut circles lie on the gentle north-facing slope 150 metres south-west of Hangman's Pit. All the huts (see associated records) adjoin elements of the Dartmeet parallel reave system (SX 67 SE 95). They are terraced into the hillside to provide level interiors with diameters in the range 2.7 metres to 6.0 metres. Only one hut possesses an identifiable entrance.
(SX 6712 7150) 6.0 metres in diameter, walls 1.1 metres wide, 0.5 metres high. Entrance on east? Adjoins hut (MDV126299).
