Hut circle just beyond the corner of a reave. Visible on 1977 nmr ap. Hut circle B measures 6.1 by 5.0 metres (diameter), walls are 0.9 metres wide by 0.3 metres high. Entrance is not visible.

Protected Status

  • SHINE: Part of the Dartmeet parallel reave system east of Down Ridge. Earthworks and walling remains of a Bronze Age field system adjoining the Venford Reave, with numerous hut circles, enclosures, cairns and a later medieval field system

Hut circle just beyond the corner of a reave. Visible on 1977 aerial photograph.

(17/07/1989) One of four hut circles and the possible site of a fifth are individually scattered throughout the system (this distribution is comparable to other parts of the Dartmeet Parallel Reave System. Hut circle B at SX65657230. Levelled into the slope, 0.45 metres high back, 0.5 metre high front scarps. Robbed walling some large boulders maximum 0.8 metres high and low scarps. Diameter 6.1 by 5.0 metres, walls 0.9 metres wide by 0.3 metres high. Entrance not visible.
