Name:Hut on the edge of enclosure 200m south of Bench Tor

Summary

One of two hut circles on the edges of a small irregular enclosure 200m south of Bench Tor. Both huts are well-constructed with coursed boulder walls, the interiors are largely obscured by vegetation and neither possesses an identifiable entrance. This hut is smaller; 6.8m diameter with walls 1.8m wide and 0.7m high. Both adjoin the boundary wall of a small contemporary enclosure forming part of the Dartmeet parallel reave system.

(25/04/1996) Centred SX 6909 7146. Two hut circles on the edges of a small irregular enclosure 200m south of Bench Tor. Both huts are well-constructed with coursed boulder walls, the interiors are largely obscured by vegetation and neither possesses an identifiable entrance.
The southernmost hut, at SX 6910 7144 measures 7.8m in internal diameter with walls 2.0m wide and up to 0.5m high.
The northern hut at SX 6908 7148, is smaller at 6.8m with walls 1.8m wide and 0.7m high.
Both adjoin the boundary wall of a small contemporary enclosure forming part of the Dartmeet parallel reave system (SX 67 SE 95).
