The remains of Prehistoric settlements on Yar Tor include Sites 1 and 3. Site 1 is the remains of a Prehistoric homestead reused in later times. A large hut of 9.5 metres diameter has some massive stones in the walls and opens onto a triangular enclosure. The wall opposite the hut is the reave reinforced with large slabs. A gap beside a cross-set slab near the south corner of this wall was the original entrance to the enclosure. The outer field to the west has been cleared of surface stone and was originally divided by a bank. The circular bank of a smaller hut of 6.5 metres diameter lies on the opposite side of the reave. Site 3 consistis of a short section of bank alongside a hut of 5.4 metres diameter and an arc of stones a short distance downhill. Later a bank and ditch was constructed nearby enlosing a well-cleared field Other details: Map 14, Sites 1 and 3.

(14/03/2008) SX 6751 7351 Two incomplete conjoined enclosures on the south-west slope of Yar Tor, near Dartmeet, of probable Medieval date. The western enclosure appears to have been sub-circular and approximately 0.6 hectares. The second enclosure wall attaches to the north-west corner and follows a sinuous course to the south-east for approximately 250 metres where it joins a Prehistoric enclosure. The boundaries comprise banks of up to 0.8 metres high with silted external ditches and some vestiges of a stone facing.
