D-shaped enclosure visible on aerial photograph on west side of reave.

Cosford, J., 1985, Chagford Common (Worksheet). SDV229063.

This is in fact 'B' shaped - or rather, one pendant enclosure, with possible hut circle within, with another enclosure secondary to both the pendant enclosure and the reave, which is Hurston Main Reave. Other details: sketch.

Fleming, A., 1988, The Dartmoor Reaves: Investigating Prehistoric Land Divisions, 53, Figure 21 (Monograph). SDV229071.

Feature on Hurston Main Ridge Reave shown on Figure 21.

Gerrard, S., 1990-2002, Monument Protection Programme. Archaeological Item Dataset., MPP 152380 (Report - Survey). SDV277946.

(01/01/1999) At SX67658344. Agglomerated enclosure attached to the Hurston Ridge Reave.

Butler, J., 1991, Dartmoor Atlas of Antiquities: Volume Two - The North, 29, Figure 25.1, Map 25 (Monograph). SDV219155.

An isolated Settlement 8 consisting of a pair of D-shaped enclosures with a few set stones were added to the west side of the Chagford Common Reave. The spread banks are less than 0.3 metres above the turf but were at one time clearly more substantial as the ancient track beside the reave takes a turn around them

Environment Agency WMS, 1998-2016, LiDAR DSM data JPEG image (1m resolution) (Cartographic). SDV360209.

Linear feature visible on data.

Historic England, 2022, National Heritage List for England, 1019577 (National Heritage List for England). SDV364675.

The agglomerated enclosure attached to the Hurston Ridge reave near its northern end survives as two `D'-shaped areas surrounded by 3 metres wide banks standing up to 0.6 metres high. The northern enclosure is earliest and the interior of the southern one has been disturbed by peat cutting.
